Dr. Mavroudis completed his basic training in medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and had been a research fellow at the Laboratory of Neuropathology and Electron Microscopy from 2005 to 2015. He worked with the Forensic Department of the Aristotle University, where he gained significant experience in post mortem brain examination. He obtained his M.D. and he then completed his Ph.D. in Neuropathology and Neuromorphology in 2013, and his Specialty Training in Neurology in 2015.
He collaborated with the Department of Biology, Alexandru Popa University, Iasi Romania, and the Laboratory of Translational Neuroscience at the University of Aberdeen, UK.
He was a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Leeds, and Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of Neurology, at Cyprus University.
He has published multiple research papers in peer reviewed journals, on neuropathology, and biomarkers of Dementia.
He worked as Specialty Registrar in Diagnostic Neuropathology, at the Department of Histopathology, Saint James’ University Hospital, Leeds, UK, and he has been a Consultant Neurologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals since 2017.
He has extensive experience in Medicolegal cases, and he regularly prepares medicolegal reports for a variety of Courts and other Tribunals.
